How to remove blue tailor's chalk from fabric?

I normally brush it off, but this fabric is very rough, and it's not coming off. I had to rub it on really hard to even get it marked, which is adding to the problem.
It is NOT the wax based kind that irons out.
It's on a project I was NOT planning to wash.
