never thought of that. my husband is an electrician so just the fixtures. maybe $300 total for both.

Yes, but there is not much to anchor it its kinda just there. honestly, I think the function of the recessed and the visual cleanness would be very nice here. Pretty lights might not give you good light for a kitchen. That being said if you really want that I would go perimeter recessed. add a switch and put a semi-flush in the center.

Thank you that's great input. We may be adding an island so I can do something pretty there. I'll see if the man will do all that work. lol at least the attic is cold and not 120 degrees!
