More photos of the kitchen would be helpful. The flooring looks ok to me.... I would not paint the cabinets. Wood kitchens are coming back into style. The valances look dated and should come down. The wall color is not attractive with the cabinets.

The floor and cabinets are nice. I would get rid of the country valances and the word signs first. Time to teach the kids to put their things away so you can use the table for family meals or homework.

Is the existing floor in need of replacement and does the color look good in person? Can’t tell due to screen and current paint. If it’s still good, paint the walls and update the windows/decor as suggested. If it needs replacing look for something much lighter than the cherry and without a farmhouse vibe. In other words, a traditional appearance that works with the style of cabinets.

Maybe something similarly light in color to your current floor, but just a little more hints of red like your cabinets?

I recommend dark rich red tone flooring to match your cabinet like in this picture.

Although in order for this to work, I recommend painting the walls in white or light gray tone to open up the space. The yellow hint in the wall that you have provides too much contrast with the red.

Bonus for removing the valances and replace those blinds with either some nice shades or fabric curtains that hang from ceiling to floor to extend the ceiling height.

I need to know what the flooring is in the rest of the house and before making any decisions change your lighting to LED bulbs everywhere 4000K (daylight) then the colors you have will at least look true. I would not choose a red toned floor unless you can get an exact match as shown above. I agree a chang eof window coverings can help, a big declutter ans osme more pics of the space and the adjoing rooms floors.

I personally love cherry cabinets and light stone/tile. If you want wood you have watch that it isn't dark or gray - has to be warm. I don't think it looks as good - I think the tile look makes the cabinets the star.

You could really improve the look just by painting the wall color, window treatments and décor.

Consider LVT as opposed to wood planks. There are some really neat colors that could lighten up your floor. Although if you like your tile I agree you can do so much with off white walls opening up your window lght and changin to decent LED lights.

Not that I am best houskeeper but removing clutter seriously helps if you have space to store.

Is your current floor actually tile? Almost looks like linoleum sheet, but photos can be deceiving! I don’t mind wood in your kitchen, but you’d have to get the right shade. I like the one that I circled from Jennifer Hogan
