Your home is beautiful and classic. It doesn’t give off a craftsman or farmhouse “vibe” at all. Doors should reflect the style of the home. I think your style of door is perfect for your home. Including the side lites. A note about double front doors. The idea sounds good, but in a practical sense, most people who have them keep the one door in a locked position at all times and only open one when guests come to the front door. (The only time we open our double doors is to move furniture in and out!). Perhaps what you are looking for is a new “feel” for the front of your home. That can come with a new color for your doorAND with an updating of your landscaping. Lovely home!!

I agree with ptreckel that your house is definitely not farmhouse or craftsman. It is a lovely traditional home. The door you have seems fine. Is there a reason you need to replace it? I can't tell if it is brown or black from the pictures, but painting it a glossy black would be classic and beautiful. I love the sidelights and the transom, and wouldn't want to lose that for a double door. Painting it seems like a cost-effective and smart solution (if it is still in good shape).

Unfortunately when we moved into the house about a year ago, the movers damaged the door and it has a crack that can’t be easily repaired. It is currently painted a semi-gloss black color.

I also agree with ptreckel's comments. If the door has to be replaced, the current style is very nice. A black door is classic with your brick and white trim.

Note that people mention a GLOSS black paint for your door. That is a classic color for a home with your color brick and your crisp white windows. Your black lanterns are nicely sized. A glossy black door of the same type would look elegant.
