I'm looking forward to hearing this also. I bought one online last year and it was just a little more than a whip. I got one blossom and am looking forward to it getting established. The one blossom was beautiful!

I’ve been intrigued with this one since it came out. It’s a Proven Winners plants and I never bought one I didn’t like. I’ll follow this thread, hopefully more people will chime in.

I have this one. But it's not the PW variety. It is a Monrovia Bushy Blue Bell.

It tends to flop. So I do put a ring support around it. I am wondering if the Stand By Me would have less flop. I'd like to try it this year. Although I have to find space!

I bought 4 of them from Brushwood Nursery, they are the cutest clemmies as I call them. I'll have to find a pic of them.

I tried two of them this year. They could not take the intense sun here. One died. The other mostly fried.

Zone 7b just outside of Charlotte NC. So lots of rain AND lots of dry spells along with humidity and 95 degree temps this summer. They just don’t seem to be bothered by ANYTHING. And as I stated above, they are in FULL sun ALL day. When I planted them last year, I did baby them and made sure they got plenty of water while they were getting established, but this year they had to fend for themselves….no extra watering. I did fertilize them twice….once in spring and again in June.

Just got my 'Stand By Me' yesterday and will be choosing a site today.

I don't have the greatest luck with clematis- I can keep them alive but they don't flourish, it's just too dry here. I water regularly and very deeply- it takes me four hours to do my back yard only and the next day it's dry as a bone again. I keep adding compost every year hoping it will get better, I mulch really well, and I've also had several moisture sucking large hickory trees removed, so we'll see.

Just hoping this does well. I have one section for 'moisture loving' things and I guess it needs to go down there. It gets good sun until about 2-3pm, hope that's enough.

I have had problems with clematis drying up in full sun- south facing. I actually have more luck with part sun as it doesn't dry up as quickly. I have a couple in shade which are beautiful, they bloom less but each flower lasts a long time.

I purchased “regular” (not lavender) Stand By Me clematis from Home Depot today! I was so surprised to see it there, it was $17.99. Also purchased three Daisy May daisies for $12.99 each - it’s supposed to be shorter than Becky and also bloom for a longer period of time. Now I just need to find space in my garden for my ”bargain” finds.

Wow that's a great price for Stand By Me! If I see one at that price, I'd probably buy another. I got some Daisy May last year because I was sold on that "shorter than Becky and longer bloom period" as well. Mine hasn't really shown up yet so I can't say for sure. My friend also got some of them last year and she is also waiting to compare. I think she also got some of the banana cream ones too.

Home Depot also had Banana Cream II, I think they were also $12.99. Those prices are half the price of what is currently being charged by the local nurseries!

I do try to support my local nurseries also, by purchasing hostas, flowering shrubs, and native plants that can’t be found at the big box stores.

I sure hope Daisy May delivers on its promise of shorter stature and longer bloom time! I have a Becky that didn’t come back this year, one that I planted in fall. I probably planted it too late…either that, or I over-watered it. I hope your Daisy May makes an appearance soon!
