Tile and Glass door misaligned

Our bathroom renovation tile was just finished last week, so the glass door workman came to measure for the door installation. While measuring he pointed out to me that while the tile on the walls and ceiling align, the floor tile does not. What should I ask of the contractor? The photo shows the glass door line in black sharpie. It moves from 1" to 2" away from the tile transition.

Can we see the whole shower, too, please? Since there is no curb, it’s it sloping toward a drain on the back wall?
Do you know how far out the waterproofing on the walls and the floor go? If the waterproofing is in place inches outside of the shower, it may not matter where the shower door goes, as long as the floor has the proper slope. Maybe some pros will see your question and give you real advice, but you might want to get the answer on the waterproofing and the name of the waterproofing system they used while you are waiting for a better answer. Typically if the waterproofing was done correctly there is nothing you can do at this point other leave it be and align the door as best you can (maybe cheat it and split the difference) or rip the entire shower out and do it over. And at this point without in progress pictures and a description of every step we have to assume the shower was constructed properly.

Thanks, I think all the waterproofing was done correctly. It passed the 48 flood test, and is waterproofed past the door, outside of three shower.

if I don't rip it all out, would asking for a discount be advised?

I took many measurements, it seems to be a build up of being a 1/2" in few places.

The entire floor should be waterproofed and flashed up the walls. The glass must go at the point where the shower floor slope begins. Any further out and the water will run down the glass and out onto the bathroom floor. That point is also where a capillary break should have been installed.

Something is wrong with someone's measurements.

Yes, I have found the walls are not at the same dimensions. If the left wall bullnose edge was pulled back to match the right wall bullnose, the glass would be straight across the the transition between the shower stall and the main floor.

The tile installation company has not been paid anything, they have photos of all the issues (also floor lippage greater than a credit card high), and are coming to the house on Friday.

My plan is to have them remove the floor (lippage issue) and the left wall to align the two sides. Fingers crossed they stand by their 100% customer satisfaction.

Know that the waterproofing will need to be redone if they tear that out. If they look like they don't know what you are talking about, ask what their waterproofing method is.
