Thermostat buzzing sound

Hi,

I recently got new 2-stage Trane furnace and 1-stage air conditioning. The HVAC contractor installed Pro (also sold under brand name Singler) thermostat. It uses C-wire and also has 2 batteries.

I see 2 issues:

1. The thermostat makes a buzzing sound. I can hear it when I stand next to the thermostat listen carefully. However my spouse can hear it while walking by. Is this some kind of electrical issue? Does it mean the thermostat has the issue, or the C-wire?

2. The thermostat shows incorrect temperature all the time. When I set it to 70, the room temperature always shows 70, even if it gets hotter than 70 in the house (I know that because we have other temp indicators). But when the temperature drops, the heat is kicking in and shutting off correctly.

I am fed up with this thermostat in a week. Is there a good thermostat anyone can recommend? Are their reliable 2-stage thermostats that work only on battery? Is this a DIY project to replace thermostat or do I need electrician?
