Ikea.

There aren’t any in the sea of imports that has you confused. Look at Conestoga, Scherrs, or Walzcraft. Not the added T hawking the imports. You won’t get cheap regrettable junk from them.

Ikea - they are the RTA standard. there are entire industries built around further customizing with new doors (Semihandmade, Barkers, etc). They have excellent hardware, are readily available, can be fitted with tons of options, spare parts readily available (last iteration Akurum was on sale for 25 years)

Completely untrue. I put Forevermark RTA cabinets in a house and they were great. There are a few good lines. If memory serves, J&K is another nice one. The issue you'll run into with RTA is that many dealers try to conceal the actual brand. If all you need are standard sizes in 3" increments, RTA cabinets works perfectly fine. Just try to stay away from anything that uses cam locks.

What Celadon said. The current reports with ikea availability would put me off ikea right now, even though I don't have any aversion to ikea in general. Conestoga is apparently still running with reasonable lead times, and I think the Conestoga sellers have good customer service reputations.

For comparison, you might want to price out these cabinets that are assembled, but you do the install and order direct from manuf without a middleman.

Cliq is junk import, was bankrupt, and isn’t surviving being bought out of it by another junk importer very well. Forever Mark and J&K are junk import also.

Chip on your shoulder much? Just because a cabinet is imported doesn't mean it is "junk". Pricing is not terribly dissimilar to particle board cabinets from a big box store, but the quality is still significantly higher. I've assembled and installed two Forevermark kitchens, and both were very, very nice at half the cost of preassembled. Conestoga or Scherr's are at least double the cost, if not more. Better quality? Customizable? Yes. But not always in budget for everyone.

If you have dealer in your location you might want to check Marsh cabinets made in USA. They have more choices than Cliq studios.

Search here for threads on Cliq. Most are quite unhappy with them as of late...

We used USA made Conestoga RTA cabinets for our kitchen that we bought through The Cabinet Joint and couldn’t be happier with them. They have videos of how to put together all the different kinds of cabinets that was a great help. You can really feel the quality of the cabinets and the design they set up was great

I know this thread is old but wanted to post for newer people who are considering Cabinet Joint:

PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY unless you want damaged cabinets and no support!

My cabinets came cracked and damaged. They just left my damaged cabinets on the streets of Manhattan without calling me beforehand. Some of the items are not sized correctly and they do not tell you that.

Cabinet Joint is very badly run and will not offer support if things go wrong. Over half of my cabinets came with damage (See pictures of examples - there are more than 25 cracks on the cabinets) and the customer has to figure this out themselves.

Cabinet Joint is extremely unwilling to help and want to place all the blame on their shipping company. See other reviews who have said the same thing.

My cabinets coach was dismissive, condescending and passive aggressive in handling my situation when the majority of my cabinets arrived damaged. The owners want me to edit my reviews so they can hide my bad experience. Instead of helping me, the owner just said that I had "heightened emotions" and told me to edit my review.
