Kohler purist moderne brushed gold or brushed brass. what’s the differ

I’m purchasing purist faucets but I see they come in vibrant moderne brushed gold and vibrant moderne brushed brass. What’s the difference? I am not sure which to purchase.

Can you go to a showroom and look?

They appear to be simulated coatings in different shades of a gold-like color.

Don't buy anything you haven't seen.

    BRASS

    GOLD

Gold seems to be more pink, brass seems to be more yellow. Not something I'd judge from a website picture though, agree to try and see them in showroom in real life.

If impossible-check their return policy, buy two, compare, decide, return one. Do check return policy very well. Obviously seeing in showroom first is better.

I am installing a Crue faucet in moderne brushed brass. I thought the color was horrible in person until I put a sample piece of my backsplash behind it and I was sold.

kohler vibrant moderne brushed gold is no longer being manufactured Kohler told me. so when the finish was defective on my pieces ordered last summer, I had to re-order in the vibrant moderne brushed brass (2MB). It is less orange-y than the gold. I've not seen the finish in person, but only a chip, so I hope it looks ok. I've been told that the color is easier to match than the VMBG which was hard to match because of the orange-y tint, although it is a pretty color.

Here is my Crue in the vibrant moderne brushed brass

I think you can still get the moderne gold still at retailers but kohler is no longer manufacturing that finish so for longevity with customer service and exchanging items you might want to stick with the modern brass. You’ll notice on kohler website that it’s no longer an option

Has anyone found kitchen cabinet knobs to match the Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass?!

Hali - my experience has been to not try to match. It will change color throughout the day and is heavily influenced by light, paint color and other finishes. The picture above is a Crue faucet in the brushed moderne brass. The hardware is Hickory Hardware (Studio collection) in brushed golden brass.

@HB I have the top knobs honey bronze and I don't think it's an exact match, but it looks decent. depends on how close the two items are. Also, be careful to order an exact sample from current lot of knobs/pulls. I don't know if it's COVID, but there are issues with different shades of the honey bronze finish for TopKnobs. The one I ordered recently on MyKnobs came out ok, which comes directly from the manufacturer. I'm pretty sure that Build.com also orders directly from manufacturer. MyKnobs will allow you to order a single pull/knob as "sample" and will charge you, but then will credit your eventual order with them for each sample you purchased. but you can only get one sample per item (but I think that each size of same style counts as a different item, but I would check with them).

Otherwise, if anyone else has any suggestions, I'd love to hear what they've found to match kohler's vibrant moderne brushed brass (2MB). I finally received my bath fixtures from kohler in this finish and was somewhat disappointed in the quality. There was some unevenness in the finish and I'm hoping that they just need to be cleaned and wiped of any residual chemicals (which kohler claims is what may be on there), but that doesn't account for the areas which are lighter than the others and lighter than the sample chip. I didn't want a super light yellow color on my fixtures. they're all installed now and the tub filler is very prominent in the room, so very disappointed.
