I think cup pulls are actually more comfortable to use, and they'll never catch on your clothes.

I had ring pulls on a dresser a long time ago. they're a teensy bit harder to grab, but not that bad. I mostly hated the way they would bang against the furniture or sometimes stay flipped up, or torque if I didn't pull them dead on (that may have been a product of bad construction). why not try buying one and testing it out for a few days? you can always return it.

have you looked at leather pulls? they're kind of neat. I could see them being really fun in a mudroom.

We vetoed cup pulls because I thought they would be really hard to clean. I imagined having to remove them completely in order to clean them well. But we have a large family and we bake and cook everyday, so when we remodeled, ease of cleaning was a priority for me in all the materials we chose.

I assume you mean for lowers. We have cup pulls on drawers only. Not sure how they'd be on cabinets (unless you meant drawers?). I really like them and don't find that they're harder to clean. The clankiness of a ring pull (at least the ones that move) would drive me insane. I don't think they're very comfortable to use so I wouldn't put them in my kitchen.

Cup pulls here. No problem cleaning or using them, and I'm a senior.

I love cup pulls - you just want to make sure you feel them and that they are comfortable for the people who will use them. Ring pulls are super pretty but I’m not crazy about how they function. I think because the pull point is not attached directly to the drawer it just feels like you have to exert more force than you should have to, especially if the are on the small side. I have several dressers with them and I notice every time that they seem to require more exertion than I’d like. I definitely wouldn’t want them in a kitchen where they are constantly in use.

Cup pulls have been used forever I actually much prefer all bar puls but IMO it depends on the style of your kitchen I definately would not do rings pulls IMO best left on a dresser maybe. As for cleaning yes the cup pulls will get grubby inside so just make it ahabit to them inside too when you ar eworking with grubby hands. As for leather in a mud room how gross would taht be in about 6 months with kids.

It will depend on the user. I'm tall and always reach with my fingertips pointed down to slip my hand into traditional drawer pulls. Cup pulls would be very uncomfortable for me, for a few reasons. Not to mention the arthritis in my hands. It's nice that there are lots of options for homeowners.

Thanks all - I was thinking the cup pulls for the laundry room. I just like the traditional look of them. We will have a laundry hamper thing that pulls out, and a 4 drawer base (18" drawers). There is a sink between them, with 2 doors below. I was thinking the cup pulls could be on the pull out hamper and the drawers, regular knobs on the doors. Knobs on the uppers. But we are tall so not sure if thats the right thing.

The ring pulls were for the kitchen, we have a bar/coffee area that has two doors above it, I was thinking of trying ring pulls there as a little special point of interest. But, thinking about it, I can see that having the ring bang into the cabinet all the time might not work so well. This is where the coffee and booze will be kept, so it will be a busy cabinet!

We are doing both the kitchen and the laundry at the same time so its hard to juggle so many decisions!

I had cup pulls in my last house. Not so much a problem with the top drawers, but YES with the bottom drawers. If you are older or have bad knees...don't do it! I did that kitchen when I was in my 30's and I thought the bottom drawers were just more awkward to open.
