Drought tolerant annuals for planters.

I am early for any kind of planting, but I am thinking ahead. I have several wall hanging planters and unmovable garden planters. In the past I put inpatients and sweet potato vines in them. Now we are only home on the weekend and need ideas for annuals that will survive if by chance it doesn't rain during the week. The only ones I can think of is geraniums and portulacas. I don't want to start from seed. I would like something that is easy to find in flats at nurseries. Pittsburgh, zone 6. The planters are all over the yard some get full sun and some in the evening get dappled sun. Any ideas?
