Aww thanks girls! old_dirt I have always thought that some unfurling buds are even more attractive than the flowers that follow. It is wonderful. I adore all the bees, wasps & the hummingbird pic. Hummingbirds are so special and I am grateful every time I see them even more so when I can get a pic.

I almost forgot about these since I keep the critter pics in a separate folder.

Pearl Crescent visiting. According to Peterson Field Guide they are not in my area but when we have really hot summers they venture north of their range.Cross between a moth and a butterfly? The antennae don't match either.

I am not sure what this is, possibly a Gypsy moth just after coming out of its cocoon? Sorry if anyone is grossed out lol! tj or anyone have an idea?

Debra and NHL - so glad to enable you on Tickle Me Pink! I just think it's a real standout. Can't wait to see it again soon.

All of these flowers are just beautiful. I can't believe I used to think hosta flowers were ugly. I guess I'm still not crazy about the super long scapes that veer off to the sides and look a little unkempt (like on Winter Snow)... but even those are okay for a little while until they turn brown (then I cut 'em off). I really like the straight up scapes - Old Dirt, that Sweet Home Chicago is beautiful! I can't believe I don't have one, since I'm originally from Chicago.

Peren, you do have amazing flowers, and Teaspoon is especially noticable to me. I have two Teaspoons and they are growing soooo slowly, and have never bloomed. Not sure what's wrong with them... maybe slow to establish. And I love your critter pictures.

Sunnywood, whatever it's called, it's gorgeous! Lederhosen - I looked it up in the Library and they say it's rare/difficult to find. I'll be keeping my eyes open for that one. And fragrant too!

This summer I'll try to keep all these categories in mind as I work in the garden, and hopefully get some better pictures.

nhl many of us have been inspired by your pics over the years and I have tried to improve my timing for taking pics...I delete plenty. So glad to enable!

windymess you have no trouble in general growing terrific specimens ( I am still dreaming of your Kaleidochrome) so perhaps Teaspoon needs a little more sun. Mine gets full sun until at least 2:00 but I am so much farther north so for you sun until 11:00? It is on Don Rawson's sun tolerant list.

old_dirt that flower on Spartacus is really cool....... I love the hummingbird photos—— wish I could attract them, but with the cats about, I wouldn’t dare. Most of the cats are not birders anymore except Seurat who’s still young and more “feisty” shall we say??

Carpenter Bee, very, very beneficial for the garden and not aggressive unless their home is threatened. I understand that they nest in wood structures, but because they burrow horizontally don’t damage the structures the way other pests would.
