Good find. About 7-8 years HD still carried that brand of pine bark in our local stores and I used to hoard them. I think it is from Ohio. They stopped carrying it. In fact none of the big stores have bark like that. It is good stuff. Used to be less than $4 for a 2 cu ft bag. Now I buy from Agway - much better quality actually and is about $9 for a 3 cu ft bag. Has lot less of the larger stuff and I use them in the yards for paths and mulching around plants.

No one carries garden supplies locally here until April or May. I would've had to travel >40 miles one way and with the extreme cold, I was looking to spend some time in the basement, not out on the highways. ;-)

I was surprised how fast it arrived and the high percentage that went through the 1/2" screen first try. Not a lot of dust and no stones.

The bark wasn't soggy wet either but not hydrophobic.

The bags were actually light in weight.

Good call, no point driving around in cold. The price you is not bad. If you like it order more and store them for future. I keep about 4 bags backup all the time. I have to drive out about 20 miles to the Agway store and I keep that to once a year in late spring.

If I was in the business, I'd have many bags in the shed but this was sort of an 'Emergency fix'. I'm enough of a 'tightwad', I'll wait and see what I find on my spring journeys. More fun that way. :-)
