Nancy in Mich: thank you for noticing!! I did use the mosaic as the tie in for the other choices. It brings in the brown and I added blue towels and accessories. This bathroom, (as well as our bed room) was inspired by a trip to Santorini...the mosaics, the white tile and walls, the waves in the shower wall tile, river rock shower pan and the blue accessories. The penny capiz tile does not photograph well. It is more iridescent and beautiful in person. Also, I did Venetian plaster on the walls, and the depth and subtle depth and color variances aren’t captured by my camera. I purposely used a mixture of styles, modern versus traditional light and dark and tied in with the mosaic to make it interesting.

I especially like the use of the penny tile that frames the mirror but also becomes a backsplash for the sink.

@lydia I love it even more now that I've heard it's "story". You are so fortunate to be able to have a space in your home that reminds you of a favorite trip when you see it. All of the details you pulled together to create a representation of that memory are priceless! Well done!
