split level railing advice

Looking for advice on my hand rails/bannisters in my split level home. I like the wood and white mix but it feels like a lot of bannisters/railings. Is there a way to combine them or any pic online of how people have updated with the steps going up and down? Style wise I like this clean look just not sure how to arrange it.

I would paint the wood tops white ...on the posts...leave the rails-as is

Per building code, the handrail to the lower level must come fully to the top of the stairs and be continuous to the bottom.

Ditto painting the posts tops white. Leave the rails as-is.

What about connecting the railing to the little piece next to the stairs like on the top? would that be weird?

In order to connect the railings and make this right ...it looks like a complete re-do may be needed...as it is it looks like a lot of different elements...not a sleek continuous visual

Painting all the wooden bannister parts white ...including the little wood base part...would be a start toward a more continuous feel...still wont look sleek and modern like your inspiration pic.
