• You can find them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc and they are called tension rods. However, I have had tension rods for years and eventually replaced them with regular screw in mounts because the tension rods can't take super wet, heavy clothes.

the one in the picture did just look like a tension shower curtain rod. You can also install a screw-in rod or a closet rod cut at the hardware store to fit your space.

We have a tension shower rod. I put a couple small pieces of 2x4 under the rod on each side so it doesn’t slip down. Fixed rods are need to be cut to length. If the rod is metal you need the correct tools. wood rods are easier to cut, but unless they are pre-finished you have to accept bare wood or stain/seal yourself.

so, the easiest solution for us was a metal tension rod (shower curtain rod) with a small block of wood underneath so it can’t slip down. The shower curtain variety are metal, but two pieces that can extend or contract to fit the space.
