    Hi. Could you please provide

    1) photos of all 4 walls.

    2) A floor plan if you can

    3) an inspiration photo of what you'd like the room to look like. Thanks!

First step is to come up with a floor plan.

You need to post photographs taken in good light and give us more information about your needs and style if you expect us to spend our time to help you.

Note I had the painter change the wall color to natural linen by SW and the coffered ceiling is Malabar. This was prior owners furniture - it is acting as a place holder

Now that you added pictures, I would put the tv on a different wall.

We thought about above the TV but it seems really high. And then there is the fact that the whole has has been wired when built. However maybe that is ok?

No, I didn't mean above the fireplace. I would place the tv on the large wall where the sconces are currently.

You could mount the TV to the right of the FP See layout below

Change out the fan to something larger and in white.

Hi. Right now, really no one can view the tv unless that person lies on the sofa.

    Recommend:

    1) Move one sofa back toward the window.

    2) Remove one of the sofas (it it really crowded in the room)

    3) Place tv where sconces are

    4) Add a couple of swivel chairs beside the tv,

Alternately, if you have a lot of folks who need to watch tv at once, you could get a sectional.

Luckily that furniture was left behind by prior owners, there is nothing I like at all!!!

Okay. Thanks! I still recommend the seating plan I gave. Just be careful to buy furniture that fits the scale of the room, instead of the bulky furniture previous owners had.

It appears the pictures you posted are a staging --not how the sellers lived in that home. That is a big a$$ TV in a room where no one can sit and watch it. The couch pulled from the wall makes the living room scrunched- not reality...What furniture do you have, how will you use that room? If you want the TV hooks ups to remain as they are perhaps you need to consider two seating areas one for TV viewing and maybe a club chair near the fireplace for cozy reading...

Move the TV - either next to the Fireplace or on the wall to the left of the fireplace.

I love all of your ideas!!!! I have 2 white love seats and 2 recliners (small) that I though could work but the TV just screws everything up. I also have a long white sofa which I could use. If the recliners swiveled maybe that would have worked. Do you all think I should hire a professional maybe they could asses what I have and if any would work?

Yes, I think that is a great idea. I am happy to help. Feel free to reach out to me or there are plenty of others.

I would not put a TV on a wall opposite a window, you will get a lot of glare.

Although you could have curtains that are opaque and pull them when you want to watch the TV.

If the sofas are comfortable and have sturdy solid wood frames, I wouldn't toss them.

Well made sofas are very pricey nowadays. It is well worth it for you to have slip covers made.

Beach house furniture gets a lot of wear.

You could get tailored slip covers made out of white or off white canvas or duck or denim of a nice weight that you can take off and put in a washing machine (a commercial sized washing machine, even with bleach) with separate covers for the cushions, too.

What is that door in the wall to the right of the TV?

There is no perfect place to put the tv in this room. But, there is a best place and it depends on many factors.

-0ver fireplace if people normally lie back when watching tv (someone could lie on sofa and 2 others use recliners to lie back and watch tv over fireplace

-Across from window if tv is viewed mostly at night or don't mind closing blinds

-where it is now if you lie down on sofa and watch (sofa could go along window wall or wall

-opposite window and then 2 recliners flanking fireplace

-also depends on how many people need to view tv at one time.

-also the view......if there is a spectacular view out that window, I would consider that in any floor plan.

These Houzz discussions are normally brief and don't supply enough information to fully understand the needs of the poster.

Looks like a beautiful space and hope you really enjoy the room!
