I wish I could help, I was like you and couldn't find one that would work. I searched for a quartz thinking this was the way to go. There are certainly some pretty ones but they gave a gray cast for me. I couldn't find one that would go with my very bright super white cabinets. I agree with you @michelleknott1 they looked dingy to me too. I ended up with marble stone.

Have you gone to a stone slab yard to look over the different Quartz? Was there one that you liked more than other?

These photos show the quartz in staged settings with bright flash from the photographer but maybe they could work for you. I am not sure these are true to how it would look in my own space.

I have Chantilly Lace cabinets that were just installed and I am looking at Impeccable and Sterling by Spectrum, they are new colors. @Patricia Coldwell Consulting are there specific real stones that you would recommend that don’t etch and stain? I love white marble, Mont Blanc, Danby, Lincoln Calcutta are a few of my favorites but I’m not sure I could deal with the etching and staining. Not a big fan of granite.

@patriciacoldwellconsulting, marble is my absolute fave. I’m so tempted to go with it! But then I hear all the horror stories and I think I don’t want to have a party and be worried the whole time about someone spilling food on the island or staining it when I’m cooking.

@Boxerpal, How do you feel about your marble? Do you love it? Is it hard to keep it from getting stained?

@michelleknott1 I love my marble. It has not been hard to keep clean. Super easy for us. But I should be clear I don't cut flowers on this counter. I do that in the laundry room sink. I worry that the pollen might be tough to remove. My installer tells me if there is an issue they will come out. He has no fears of stains but has warned me it will etch.

"Rio Venato. It is one of the more soft, easily chipped, fragile, dented and easily etched marbles in the crowd. Stains are not really a problem as we have some expensive product from Italy that my installer used to prevent stains. However I still spray a sealer on it every six months because I serve red wine, love olive oil and use this counter like it is bullet proof. It's not. I love it and we would do this all over again. Have I had any issues? None but that doesn't mean we won't. We love marble the same way we love good leather boots or quality denim jeans or German cars. They will have knicks, marks, bumps, chips, dents, tears... but I'd rather be using something I love than tolerating something I settled for.

@boxerpal, I totally love what you wrote. That’s what I want! To have marble and just not worry about it. But let’s say you’re making homemade pizzas for a party and tomato sauce gets left on there for a few hours. Do you think it would permanently stain?

Have you considered a polished porcelain? May be an option.

@Shiloh S, I love the look of that, but we live in a small town and I don’t think our builder has experience with that.

@michelleknott1 we are party people. Prior to Covid, We probably hosted twice a month groups of various friends or family. I tend to be someone who cleans before I go to bed. But spilled red wine or tomato sauce have indeed sat on the counters for the duration of the party. I have not had an issue. But this could be different with some other marble stone. I would search out Karin MT and discussion she has started she is a geologist and can explain marble from the scientist perspective

If I could have found a quartz or quartzite slab that we loved I would have considered it. I could not find one. Keep in mind if you do a search of stained quartz or quartzites you will find some issues too. Each option, soapstone, wood, granite, marble, quartz, stainless steel, ceramic tile, formica, ....will all have something that might not be on your check list. Difficult to clean or texture not what you want or color isn't appealing or _____. We found the most perfect match for our wants.

Looking for that perfect quartz as well ... Viva by Pacifc Rocky Calacatta is very white with soft grey swirling veins. Aggranite Statuary Primo has splattered veining (shown w/ SW High Reflective While and SW Extra White - in better light it works well).
