Functional lighting over counters s/b just inside the front lip of the counter or you'll have shadows. Similarly you should have two lights over sink (I assume the round thing?).

Are those 3 pendants over the island? Most do not provide enough light so you may want to add some downlight there.

Some of the other lighting is really strange from a placement standpoint.

Be careful of what LED fixtures you choose as most have very poor color quality and are very florescent feeling.

My 17' x 14' living room has six recessed lights. You have 12 (or 13). Fifteen lights in the kitchen seems excessive.

I was going to order the "sunco" amazon special lights.... seem to have good review and half the price of others. I have seen them in my friends house and thought they looked fine..

That's a lot of light. So the front door enters the kitchen, is that a closet there? Do you have a living furniture layout - as the lights will be lighting up the floors - typically, you do not want an overall uniform brightness in a living room, there it's about mood. Kitchen for small spaces you do not need dedicated lights for circulation, as the counter cans will throw onto the floor. Probably just 2 pendants or 1 double lamp at island. Cabinet above stove, or hood only? Not converting the back door ceiling mount to can?

Yeah, the front door enters into the kitchen. And the small space between the living room is a closet. Couch will more than likely go in the opposite corner of the closet in the living room. The island light is more of just an example as I have not chosen and island light and probably won't be for a while. Above the range is a cabinet and a microwave.

No I probably will just use a surface mount light in that space. As that is what is there.
