We have Foothill for our main color and dark slate in the gable. Honestly it isnt contrasting enough if I had know it wouldnt be contrasting enough I would have stuck with the same color. But it can always be painted one day. But we got samples from our lumberyard and put them up on the framing to get an idea of how lighting affects the color. It does change appearance when hung vertically. We didnt do that with the gable color. It was a last minute choice that my husband wanted. I should have told him it was already all decided and purchased lol!!

KH what color did you choose? Your house looks lovely. How has the siding been holding up?

We used the prefinished color "Foothill" it is a lovely gray blue. (The company is out of South Dakota so I imagine that is where the color name originated from was the Foothills of South Dakota!) The siding is great! We have had some hail go through our area several times and neither the finish nor the siding was damaged. Although some of my cedar porch posts were damaged. So I am impressed with the siding. Are you building soon?

I also forgot to mention that all of our trim is Diamond Kote in smooth white. It is also holding up well. The only thing I am disappointed in is that the caulking yellows. So that is frustrating.
