Painting over black mastic

Hi houzz community,
Looking for some advice. We just got tile taken out of our basement (professionally) that potentially contained asbestos, leaving a black mastic underneath. Looking to paint over this mastic with some sort of primer/paint. Wondering if anyone has had experience with this an can provide advice. Thanks!
