blue sofa options!? navy or “denim”

Hi all! We are finally investing in a sectional for our living room. It’s going to cut across where current sofa is placed (just to help us gauge space) and run up window wall once radiator is gone.
We’ve narrowed in on a cr laine sofa that fits the space and are trying to figure out fabric.
We have young kids so cleanable is impt-the lighter color is a performance fabric but the navy is almost 50/50 acrylic/poly so I understand that also to be quite cleanable.
My husband prefers the lighter fabric feel (softer) and I think the lighter color may be better for our small space. But I have a fear of the 90s denim sofa look!! ☺️ is this crazy?
Also FYI we will paint room white and remove toys so it should look a lot better in either case! Grateful for any thoughts!!! Thanks!

To me, it depends on the lining and seams. That’s a small piece of fabric to be able to tell. I’ve seen denim look nice but I’ve seen denim look cheap/like jeans. Lol A sectional is a lot of fabric! Have you tried searching online for a pic of your exact sofa with that fabric? Personally I’d go navy, as it’s classic and you won’t be surprised. I also think the color goes better with your walls.

I like denim. I didn’t know it was a 90s look. I thought it had been a basic fabric since Levi Strauss made jeans.

Yes, you could use a lighter color on the wall where the TV is especially. I assume that’s the same color as the wall where the pictures are, which looks very nice, there.

Thanks Socks. The color is SW mindful gray and is same on all walls. It worked well with the white sofa and the woodwork but I’m thinking tone could be off with blue.

I like the darker of the two and, you are correct, the acrylic/poly is tough.

Which ever you choose, get throw pillows with the Mindful Gray in the mix and it will make the blues work with the walls.

Thanks everybody. We are leaning towards the darker one. I’m only hesitant as the other is W care code and the navy is S. I find that odd given it’s the acrylic/poly blend. Ugh!
I am going to repaint the walls regardless but thank you for the pillow suggestion! It’s lovely.
