As for the first question, I think it depends on the depth of the sofa in inches and you and your husband’s sizes. You might want to get the depth of the sofa in inches and compare it with some other piece of furniture you have as far as comfort. You don’t want your feet dangling or knees sticking out, just comfortable support for your derrières and thighs. As far as “laying around,” the extra depth could be more comfortable, and I’m sure the pups will appreciate. It’s a good-looking sofa.

Would you consider those stretchy furniture covers? I think Surefit is one brand.

Hi Natalie. We bought the Lounge ll sofa (2 of them) because our grown son has them and over the past 5 years with kids and dogs they wear like iron. I had the very same concern as you. I really don’t like the really deep sofas and worried too. But, we always seemed to be very comfy on there’s. We bit the bullet and got them 5 months ago for our new house. They are beyond great. Very comfy, and the depth is not a problem. We longe around on them all the time. If I ever feel like I want extra support, I throw a pillow behind me. But, to be honest, my feet are almost always up on the couch with me. Lol We picked out the fabric in Taft. (See photo). I’m not familiar with the fabric you are talking about. My son has a microfiber and it’s great.
