I am interested in hearing the answer to this! We also ordered a Mahogany front entrance door, but want the look of a darker stain. Maybe post on the painting forum, as well. We have some French doors in unfinished pine that also need to look dark, although they will not look as pretty as the mahogany door.

Mahogany in its natural state is not the deep red you see on antique furniture. It’s more of a medium red orange. You need a stain the has some green and brown in it. Likely something like special walnut or provincial will give you the look

cd7733 - If you have a few minutes, I would love to see a photo of the lower panel of your front door. The children (I think those are children behind the moon faces :-)) are standing in front of the area most covered with your SW product. From what I can see, the finish looks close to what we want. Very helpful PDF!

BTW- I love that you are teaching your children that giving is important!!!

HALLETT & Co. - We plan to use Dark or Special Walnut on our red oak floors. I am not sure Provincial would be dark enough.

Please don't mind our wimpy "door mat" and lopsided blinds. I have one side hiked up so our dogs can peek through, lol! They were doing a number on them when I'd forget to crack them. Zip-ties were the solution.
