Wow. It reminds me of what Dolly Parton said about trying to put 10 pounds of sugar in a 5 pound sack. You seem to have a storage problem.

What is your budget? Are you able to buy new furniture? Are you and your husband able to build custom cabinetry or shelves?

For starters, declutter and get rid of all that stuff. You need to start with a clean slate and get us better pictures and a measured drawing of the room.

I think you should declutter your room and clean all the stuffs first. Then you can paint your room, avoid too much pattern on the wall because it may make your room look smaller.

I’m thinking maybe you should put the bed by the gray curtains window. And get new side tables. Pretty wall lamps. A rug. I’d declutter and super organize everything. Do you have a closet? Can we work on maybe organizing and reworking that space so there is less in the bedroom?... I’d want the minimum amount of furniture in here because it’s not a very large room. I’d also add a bench or mini couch somewhere. But start with emptying out the room...

If you can move the bed in front of the other window but either placement I would cover both window walls with ceiling to floor curtains. I will add pics of items for you to consider. if storage and laundry hamper ideas are needed let me know and I will add those. wherever there is open space in the curtains or other walls if I know size I can help find artwork

That headboard is too massive for the size of that wall. I'd orient the bed in front of the other window, with the drapery closed. I'd also lose that giant TV. I'm anti-TV in the bedroom; they stick out like sore thumbs and it keeps the room from being a relaxing refuge, IMO.

Have you seen a hotel room lately? They tend to be very sleek and minimal.

Hotel rooms can be sleek and minimal since people don’t bring all their possessions with them when they stay at a hotel. Maybe the goal of making the room look like a hotel room is not realistic under the current circumstances. Maybe the goal needs to be “a place for everything, and everything in its place”.

This home looks like it is a small home or apartment that is lived in by a young family with children. It is easy to say “get rid of the clutter”, but when you use the lotions and bottles every day, and you don’t have anywhere else to put it, that might not be a realistic solution. There is a profound shortage of storage space since every door has an over-the-door hanger to try to get just a little more storage. The Cali-king bed and the wall mounted TV are too large for the small room, but they are the TV and the bed that you have to work with.

You have no where to go but up to meet your storage needs. You might consider mounting a shelf 12” below the ceiling and filling it with matching storage boxes to meet some of your storage needs.

Thank you guys our room is only 10x12 ..and 9feet height.I can some furnitures but can’t give up the tv and the big bed.I have a closet on the right side of the bed. The curtain you see on the left side of bed is the masters bedroom window looking out the frontyard and needed those thick curtain to keep the cold out.

For the cold if a new window isn't in the budget have you tried those plastic seals for inside the window? you can do blackout curtains that have a light color and design. Hope that helps.

Hi there, I have lived in tiny apartments on a tight budget and I feel your pain. Something that wouldn’t cost any money and would help you feel a lot better about your bedroom is to try tuck away everything that is currently sitting on top of your dresser and floors. Try to find a place for everything except a few decorative items. If you must keep utilitarian items on the floor or on the dresser, try to find beautiful decorative baskets or bins to put them in. When you live in a tight space, you must be ruthless about what items you keep in it. Carefully edit your clothes, toiletries, and other memorabilia. Put things away each day and make the bed. You will be amazed how good just doing this can make you feel. Try to limit the amount of items on each surface to three. The next step that wouldn’t cost too much money is to find a comforter or a duvet cover and down insert in a color and pattern you love. Once you have that, as you get the money, you could paint all the walls in the same light color taken from the comforter. Not yellow, but perhaps a warm white. (Save the yellow for small touches on the comforter or pillows). If you paint the room yourselves, you can probably do it for under $100. A third step which is a bit more pricey but would really improve the look of your room is to purchase blackout curtains like those shown above in the same color as the walls or a light color that coordinates with them for both the windows. I agree that if you could put them all the way across the wall behind the bed, it would really improve the look of that wall (6-8 panels on that wall). Be sure to get them as tall as possible (hang the curtain rod(s) as high as possible. Next steps would be to find large art that coordinates with the comforter for the side walls (Home Goods, Wayfair, Great Big Canvas); decorative pillows and throw blanket for bed, and perhaps a taller dresser. A large area rug would also help the room look incredible but if funds are tight, it could be something that you save up for. Post progress pictures for us :)

I think you need to spend a bit of time planning how you want to store everything.

Working with what you have. I would reorangize the 6 drawer dresser and turn the top 2 drawers as your make up vanity to store bottles, lotions and day to day miscellaneous items. Your night stands are small but functions. I would change the doors to swing away from the bed and store things in baskets. That way when you’re in bed, you can easily open the door and slide the basket out.

When I lived in a small condo with a 12x10 room, I had my king bed along wall and we use the 3 drawer Ikea malms as our dresser/nightstand.

Whats the width of the dresser, eg, the space between those two doors?

First, get a few boxes and label them. 1. Trash, 2. Donate and 3. Keep. Then start putting things into boxes.
