1. Picture, please.

2. Species name (there are about 1200 bamboo with varying degrees of cold hardiness)

I'm sorry got sick and couldn't respond I'm not sure about the species they planted it while in the mountains of Arkansas Love by Jasper and I dug it up there and transplanted it to my house it's about 25 ft tall

I just drove through Jasper and all of the stands of this stuff up there is yellow just like mine and this stuff is thick and like I said about 25 ft tall

The pictures aren't sharp enough for identification, but I can see enough to believe that it will recover. It will lose damaged leaves, but you should see replacement growth at branch tips by summer. By the way, when you said "sub-zero" temps did you simply mean below freezing, or did you actually mean negative temps on the Fahrenheit scale?

sorry, I'll get better pics tomorrow, but yea, we had several nights of -2 -3 -5 wind chill factors.as cold as we've seen in 15 yrs. I had 14 in. of snow. hated it. the south ain't supposed to see weather like that.lol but thank you for taking the time to try and help, I know y'all's knowledge has been hard earned, and I appreciate it.

Wind chill is what affects the leaves, but actual temperature is what affects survival of the root mass. Do you recall the lowest recorded actual temperature during this period?

I would like to thank kudzo 9 for his excellent advice about my bamboo not being dead, it's sprouting everywhere. Still not sure what kind it is though.lol

The bamboo has spread this far in 1.5 yrs. Approximately 10 ft.

These are new this yr

It's one of the many species of Phyllostachys, possibly Ph. aurea.
