Help with poppy id?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone can help with identifying this poppy. When I bought it it was labeled field poppy. I’m not sure if it’s actually a perennial or if it just reseeds so prolifically that it acts like one. It also goes dormant in summer, and comes back before frost when the weather cools down. I quite like it and have had it for awhile, but I’m not a huge fan of the orange and want to get a similar variety in a different color.

Brandon Peck, I think it's Papaver rhoeas.

It’s not Papaver rhoeas, an annual, which is the corn or field poppy. The leaves , buds and seed pods indicate a Papaver orientale cultivar, such as Fireball, and hence a perennial.

That's what my app said too. LOL I didn't see any leaves or buds until magnifying.

Thank you both, it looks like fireball’s a match :) Wouldn’t have expected it to be an oriental bc I’ve had bad luck with other varieties in the past.

It looks like the antique variety orientale 'May Queen' - some have it listed as 'Fireball' and it can spread into a large patch!

Mine has already spread into a couple big patches, it has a beautiful cottage garden look to it. I’m usually a bit too negligent to my garden but it seems to thrive regardless lol.
