Hallway floor help - ideas?

This is the wood that was under the carpet. What kind of wood is this? (sorry I’m a newbie at this) What can I do here? I plans to replace the wood doors and trim with white and get white baseboards. Could I whitewash the floor? Tile it? Help? Hubby and kids don’t care and it’s been this way for a few years. I’m tired of looking at it.

This is a very used hallway so I could not block it off for a large amount of time. I need an idea I can do in increments. We also have cats and dogs.

Is there any hope?

I like the idea of white washing them. you will have downtime for this area to sand clean white wash and dry.

If its an option, if you dont have another place to stay and you don't already own a camper, rent one for you all to stay in while you or someone does the entire wood floor area.
