Thank you so much for the suggestions haku, they are beautiful!!

I had bronze star..... it was pretty disease resistant. I lost it due to flooding. But it was healthy until then.... I am in hot humid Zone 10 Florida.

Another one that I had that had great scent was Enchanted Autumn.... This rose died on me but it was due to nematodes here in my sandy soil.... that was before I knew I needed to either do special amendments to the soil and/or use fortuniana root stock.

Love those orange roses

Lady of Shallot

Or Soul Sister

Or Easy Does It, my fav

There was a thread over the winter dedicated to orange roses, hopefully someone links it, where everyone here who had orange roses posted their pictures and opinions. That thread might be helpful for you to look through!

Easy Does It.

I bought it last year as a band and it grew nice and vigorous. Very disease resistant in the humid south. The color is in the sunset group and it pops in the garden, but not in a garish way.

It fades beautifully, doesn't look spent, and the bloom is quite long-lasting.

And another one from this year: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6064759/oranges-apricots-2021-color-threads

Westerland is healthy and orange and thorny!

Shreveport, Mango Veranda, Cl. Tangerine Skies, Carding Mill, Apricot Candy; also the ones listed above.

Abbaye de Cluny from Meilland--the blooms are huge and a soft orange. Diane

Thanks very much for the suggestions! I think I'm going to go with Shreveport or Easy Does it, thanks again!

Marigold, you will love Easy Does It

The color changes are so pretty and it blooms all of the time.

LADY OF SHALOTT (English, 2009) is my favorite orange. She replaced the similarly colored PAT AUSTIN, and has been a definite improvement. LoS unlike Pat does not nod her blooms into the mulch. The blooms also last longer in the vase and the canes aren't as wickedly thorned. Fragrance is fruity and strong, though not as intense as PA or LADY EMMA HAMILTON. What I like most about LoS is the color. As you can see from the pics it is coral orange reversed golden yellow. Orange roses can look harsh in the garden, but LoS never does because the coral pink secondary tone "softens" the brilliant color. The thin wiry canes remind me of a vigorous China rose. LoS also has better repeat bloom than most English Roses. The foliage does suffer from heat stress in the Mid-Atlantic's hot and humid summers. That combined with black spot can completely defoliate the shrub in July/August but come fall she quickly rebounds. Of course, if you are willing to stay up on the summer watering and spraying with fungicides (I use Mancozeb) then she holds onto the leaves and continues to bloom.

I'm not fond of most orange roses (unless they're pastel, lol), but two that are superlative are Pumpkin Patch and Brass Band. PP is fairly new, and easy to get hold of, but BB is harder to come by. Rogue Valley sometimes has it, but it's best to get on their "available" alert list if you decide it's a must have.

Vavoom is another rose that has a nice orange color to it.

Lady of Shallot is the currently blooming orange in my garden.
