I am restoring a deck, I was able to strip the solid stain off the floor and then sand, brighten and restain. The deck railings on the other hand have been problematic. The solid stain just will not come off the railings, no matter how much stripper used combined with scraping. Can I just place a new solid stain over previous solid stain. If not, what would you suggest? Could paint work better?
