my other choice for countertops is something never even considered but i saw this suede finish granite at the warehouse the other day and its pretty amazing

it completely not what i had in mind but it looks really good with my cabinet/island and floor lol

its bold and would be more contract

Oohh really nice! I also like the suede finish granite!! It pulls all the colors in your cabinets and floor.

Anyone have suggestions for backsplash and wall paint that coordinate well with calacatta prado?

Does any one have pictures of coordinating floor and shower tiles? I have not been able to find much. TIA!

Has anyone used calacatta prado in a large square island?

The picts make the veins more evident and darker than in reality !

Anyone that already has MSI quartz, I am getting scared reading up some reviews here on the discussion boards.

Those who’ve had it for some time, how did Prado fare in terms of maintenance and staining esp. water stains.

I’ve had the surface since the beginning of February, and no staining thus far.

no stainings , but being light color, you can see any thing included fingerprint. i m a bit obsessed in keep cleaning over and over.

I agree with Antonella’s comment. You can see marks and I use a microfiber cloth to remove marks or residue.

We went with MSI Prado. Have had it about a month and no stains.  Just wipe clean after using and I have had all types of food sitting on the island for prep. We are careful about keeping direct heat off it, don't let standing water near the sink, and use felt coasters to absorb from glasses if there long.

@krispy9 I don't have it in the pictures,  but my coffee pot/keurig, toaster oven and instant pot sit on heat resistant mats. You can find different types and sizes online - I have black ones with felt bottoms so you can just slide the appliance out from under the cabinet when you are using it and back when done.

Slip321 thank you for posting the pictures. It’s just beautiful! Since February, I’ve had a large toaster oven and I also have a smaller toaster, and thus far, no cracks or stains.

I am careful not to place hot pots because the installer told me to be careful with hot items.

I love the mix of tiles and the pattern that you created with it! Beautiful!

I love seeing these beautiful photos. I have chosen this quartz and am finding that the bright white paint (Chantilly Lace) we were going to use make the quartz look a little dingy. I switched to BM Calm which is a tiny bit gray. My question is-has anyone used the Callcatta Prado quartz with white sinks?

Does anyone here have suggestions for white or off-white cabinet paint color? I recently purchased Prado countertops and am contemplating painting our cabinets.

Hoping someone can help. Is the veining both brownish and gray. I see both which looks pretty but did not want all gold. Hope that makes sense.

What paint has everyone used for their walls when using Prado for the counters?

I used Calm (Benjamin Moore?) and am very happy with the results. Not too stark next to the gray undertones of the quartz.

@svrabac this is not my personal kitchen, but a clients. As far as color goes though, the Prado definitely has warm undertones. I’ve done it on cream cabinets and it honestly looks better with that than with a true white…

More pics…… Both samples are the same color Calacatta Prado (dye lot changes background color from one lot to another). Here it is w/ various SW paint colors. / Next picture is a bigger piece next to a true cream cabinet door (antique white) as well as a Dove Gray cabinet. Hope this helps!

Alabaster feels a bit too yellowy. Best matches IMO are Drift of Mist and Shoji. For a whiter one, Greek Villa.

Would Calacatta prado look good with cabinets painted accessible beige? I see more brown color in the veins

Karen, accessible beige would look awesome. Would love to see it finished if you do end up using the Prado. Prado absolutely has the warmth and brown in the vein, with some gray too. Plus, the Prado looks way more natural IMO to all the other Quartz. If you like the look of the Prado, you should also look into Vadara Quartz if it’s available near you. Vadara will be a little more $ probably. But they’re my fav manufacturer, about 75% of their colors are also extremely natural looking. Not so much of that stark artificial white, but more of a milky marble looking style. Look up Sereno Gold or Calacatta Oro. Those would also look fantastic with the beige paint. 😊

Are the veins a natural tan or more grey? The sample I have is neutral which is what I'm looking for, not grey.

I am having the same issue. I am strongly considering prado white kestrel white cabinets, accessible beige walls and a warm med toned wood grain floor. Also un the running is calacatta idillo.

@Nancy Graziani - it is very neutral which is why it’s one of my best sellers. It’s a gold/gray combo. Classic colors. Much better than the artificial, bright white with modern gray vein quartz look that is also popular IMO.
