We need to replace our deck and in some spots it is only 1-2' off the ground, therefore, we are trying to brainstorm ideas so that we don't need to have a railing. However, we have our outdoor table on the deck and we do not like the idea of not having a "safety" from someone pushing their chair off the edge. any ideas when you are dealing with a deck in this height range? one idea I have seen with limited success is deck planter boxes that match the deck and then go in front to create a physical/low barrier. Thoughts on this? If you have pictures, please share.
