Hmmm. Easier said than done. Need to know if it’s annual or returning perennial (pull some and look at roots) and whether leaves have a smell when bruised. Several candidates suggest themselves at that stage of growth.

one thing for sure.. its a weed that i spent lots of hours and gallons of roundup killing on 5 acres ... aggressive seeder might be an understatement ... lol ..

Looks like Glechoma hederacea, ground ivy, to me. My yard is choke full of it.

Dead Nettle ( Lamium), probably Lamium purpureum. A mass of it is pretty when blooming, but afterwards it collapses and turns a sickly, ugly gray, hence the name. Ground ivy is a vine that spreads all over the ground. Ground ivy has pretty little blooms and I love the way it smells, but both of these will take over your yard.

The reason I asked about roots is to differentiate between the above suggestions plus a couple of other possibilities.

Looks like young Alliaria petiolaria. Crush a leaf and smell it.

Leaf venation and arrangement are like that of a Lamium such as amplexicaule or purpureum.

They look pretty close to me. I pull it out like every day.

A sniff test would solve this? Still in question. Larger plants seem to have opposite foliage....Lamium purpureum.
