Plastic is easier to clean than wood. Just saying.

Wood is flammable and would be unsafe. Anything by the range/cooktop needs to be heat-resistant.

@Mark Borinsky - wood is flammable. Don’t do that! Go on Amazon and search “stove counter gap cover” or “stove counter gap filler”. There are a ton of them.

Plastic melts and give off carbon monoxide. But yeah wood is also highly flammable.

I ordered some stainless steel ones on Etsy.com. I haven't gotten them yet so can't give my opinion. They come in 21 and 25 in lengths about $32 for a two pack.

What did you end up using ? I am sick offgassing, outgassing and plastic, silicone, etc. The cheap filler kits look awful, IMO and are the big box stores' are expensive (probably because they often come with 5 pieces in a kit when all I want is 2). I' could see using a good wood strip, tailored to fit. With an induction stove it would be very difficult to get wood to burn. I will check etsy but curious where you landed.
