dining room help!

last modified: 5 years ago

We bought a house with a bit of a wonky layout but location location location! I am really struggling with the dining room. I need help for the upper wall on one end of the dining room. This particular wall has a small window that looks into the mudroom that previous owners added on to the house. I do like that it does allow me to see through the mudroom to the backyard and to see when kids come home but I also hate it bc of the location and bc it looks into another room. Anyway. It is what it is. I’m not taking it out. I can’t right now so please don’t suggest it. Maybe in a year or two I will.
Should I put faux trees in each corner? Or should I put two small white little sideboards (links attached) on either side of the windows. Also attaching white floral art for above wainscotting on each side of window and a set of 4 neutral art prints for that area. Pleas give me some direction. The piano is not staying. And the tea table is not staying. Those items there are just temporary til another room is finished.
So art work? Console tables with lamps? Faux trees? Or should I put a sideboard with glass doors where the piano is? I do not want to make a costly mistake and appreciate any help.

I’m also showing the opposite wall with the large window and shutters. Should I also do a half shutter on the mudroom window?

links to examples of art work I was thinking.....
