Ideas Or Suggestions

Hello Everyone,

I would love to see what other ideas or suggestions for this room. Is the mirrors to low? Are they fitting the look?

Thank you!

Pretty bed and lovely look. Not a fan of the mirror above the mirrored table. The mirror is very simple while the table is glam. I'd consider an arched mirror if doing two mirrors with that headboard. Something slightly less angular. But I'm not convinced a mirror above a mirrored table is a good idea. Also, I might forgo the 3 pieces above the headboard if doing two mirrors. I do like how the art echoes the green pillows but I'm not sure the space between headboard and ceiling absolutely warrants something there. Hard to judge from a pic.

Yes, they are a bit too low, but I would avoid a straight line with the 3 prints, so I guess I would then move the prints up accordingly. But I think your prints are bit small or underwhelming given the impact of your green pillows. What if you framed them in more substantial green frames, or got botanical prints with more punch in the artwork?

Oh — and I think you need a frog on your night table.

Instead of going with green in the prints, how about prints that are neutral in color but botanical in content, so you let the green in the pillows carry the idea?

I think I’d remove the art above the bed and maybe do one of those study style lights above the headboard.
The Mirror on the left looks fine. The right side looks off. Match the side tables. And I agree with maybe going arched.

Do you know what the lamps are made of ?

Thank you for everyone ideas and suggestions! I should have mentioned that the mirrored nightstand will go away one day, and replace with similar style to the other one. Also I’m replacing the curtains with lighter color to match walls.

How about those mirrors instead? And which color dark or light wood?

Here is the link for the lamps

I prefer the first mirrors. Less grandma. The second set remind me of mirrors that belong over a chest of drawers

True 😆. Now I can’t unseen the grandma mirrors.

What will the mirrors reflect/double? If the view is of the open bathroom door or a closet wall, forget it. I would invest in art instead of mirrors, and remove the 3 small ones. Your bed is quite stylish, but you're cluttering it up with too many things. The tables should reach mattress height and the art should be 25% more narrow than the tables, while the lamps and tables measured together should reach 58-64" from the floor for balance sake. Have you considered painting the room to match the pillows or a lighter shade of that green? Green is such a soothing bedroom color!

Thank you for all the tips. The bed is facing an empty wall. I actually just finished painting the room with SW Snowbound yesterday. I will be willing to replace the pillows color vs painting that bedroom again 😅. I do agree with being cluttered. After painting the room I did feel the wall behind the bed became bare. How about just the lamps like the picture?

Better with just the lamps but I don't like their style/color.

I don't mind the lamp colours nor do I know your budget but here are other shape and colour lamp ideas (sizes are random and might not suit):

The second mirrors in your mock up were too wide. If you're replacing the mirrored table to match the wood one and want mirrors, consider narrower vertical ones with a less angular frame. Add art to your bare wall for the mirrors to reflect something you love. (If you think you think you or others will notice the mirror's reflection? You could also consider antiqued mirrors.)

Thank you much for the tips!

Forgot to say: your wall colour is lovely! You'll be able to change the accent colours at whim so if you're not overly fond of the green pillows don't get green lamps... ;-)

Thank you for the nice words. I honestly still not sure of how I feel about the wall color. It’s pretty when it’s a sunny day; I was thinking of adding a green lamp too. However, I wanted to get neutral colors for the light if I decided to switch accent colors in the future. I will be adding a faux plant in the room for adding more green color in the room.

How about those mirrors and removing the art above the bed?

    Please forget the mirrors!!

    I prefer your original choice.

Better. But too tall. I like it without the art tho.

See, now I prefer it with the art. Agree the mirrors are too tall, regardless. But this is a mockup and doesn't have the reflective surface of the mirror, correct?

What do YOU like? This is your bedroom, after all, not ours. :)

Hahaha. I miss the art too. Correct, the app I'm using left the mirror frame only. I like it with the lamps only, but I love natural light and wanted to add that illusion of windows on that wall.

Can you find mirrors you like at a store with easy returns to try out your idea? Or perhaps you even have a mirror you can try out? I mean, a lot of things can look good in a mockup and not so much irl. And vice-versa! Pixels do limit our impression of a space. But the most important opinion is yours because it's your space. I mean, we're strangers on the Internet. How much weight should be given to our opinion? :D

Fwiw, that pic with the antiqued mirrors is my inspiration pic for my bedroom. It's still not done (long story) but I had tested a mirror behind a night table (same perpendicular window setup as yours) to see if the trick would work in my space. The reflected light was amazing! I didn't notice what the mirror reflected as much as the feeling the room was bigger.

What app are you using for your mockups? They look good.

ETA: Mock up the art again with the tall mirrors and see if you like the balance. Try different art as well. More colourful, more abstract, more linear, etc. Different styles. If you're that proficient with the mockups, you can play around and see how art gives the room a different feel.

Thank you for all your ideas.

    I use Photoshop app.

How pretty would it look with this above the beds.

I still like your original mirrors, but for something completely different:

I still keep imagining bolder or more neutral or more surprising botanicals over the bed, partly because I think your chandelier choice is bold and away from sweet and traditional. I’m not suggesting a mix of these but a 3-some of whichever would appeal (all probably needing reframing)

So the last one is so sweet it is kinda surprising. Would look really sweet in the center flanked by 2 or your existing green botanicals. ;)

I love those prints. Definitely will keep in mind!

Small thing probably, but if nightstand is mirrored, maybe have other than mirrors above them both.
