Neither the blueberries nor the Green Giants needed to be indoors over winter in a zone 7. I am hoping this did not do them permanent harm.

Otherwise, you need to acclimate them gradually to the outdoors over a period of several days to a week. Put outside in a protected location (out of direct sun) for an increasing period of time each day until they are able to stay out overnight without concern.

There are some temperature concerns with the toms, cukes and peppers. These are hot season plants and need soil temps of at least 60F to thrive and nighttime temps of at least 50F. Might be too early to transition them to outdoors.

Garden angel. You were right. The green giants have been on a slow decline since I brought them out in the spring. I guess they needed some cold weather? They are still in pots and I have been watering and having them in the sun. One is worse than the other. Is there any saving them? I would like to keep them in pots a little longer. Could it be the dirt? I dont know.

It is much harder to keep a plant alive in a container all summer than it would be if planted. And it looks like ordinary garden soil they are potted up in. If so, that is certainly not doing them any favors!!

Why can't you plant them?

I guess I can. I just wasn't sure where to plant them yet. These were 2 that were left over from a planting of 30 that were planted around the fence line, so I had no use for them in that regard and I was just planning on keeping them in pots for a little while longer. But it's not a big deal, I can plant them in the front corner for a little more privacy.

So what is my best approach at this point, just planting the whole root ball the way it is, or breaking it up and removing the dirt that its in and replanting them in regular soil?
