there's no reason why you need a shorter half oven when you can easily fit the double and the mirco

I have a range with a single over and a separate countertop convection "toaster" oven (Cuisinart brand) that doubles as a second oven/broiler for us. It's affordable - only around $200, and can be relocated if necessary. We actually relied on the convection oven alone for a year after our old oven broke. So something to consider as an alternative.

Why don’t you explore a speed oven for your second “1/2” oven. It can be a microwave or a regular oven or a combination of both A lot of forum folks like the advantium. I have a Miele Speed oven and use it mostly as an oven. It heats faster and uses a lot less energy than my 30” wall oven.

I'm getting a GE Twin Flex oven & will have a shelf built above it for a countertop microwave. I will get a trim kit for the microwave so it will look built in.

The Twin Flex is the same size as a 30 inch single oven. The top is a regular oven, the bottom is convection and regular. Both ovens have broil elements.

I'm curious what you ended up doing and how it has worked out for you. Currently building a house and wondering this exact same thing. Would love to hear your experience.
