How deep do I pot up sansevieria?

I've never bought a sansevieria online, consequently I've never potted one up that's bare-root. How deep do I plant it?

Also, do the roots tend to grow shallowly? The answer will determine what pot I put it in.

I'm attaching a couple photos and have some questions about what's in the photo.

Is what I'm pointing at going to grow into another leaf? Do they need to be under the soil ?



Do I need to be concerned about the spots on the back of the leaf? None of my other sansevieria have had that.
