Any chance of a pic or two of the area? And knowing what is there now as well as sun exposure and soil type would help.

I don’t have a good recent picture that would give an idea of the current layout. Every year the garden changes tremendously as I have time and resources to do so. :)

Sun exposure is fairly sunny, but not a good day‘s “full sun”. Too many trees on either side blocking for periods of the day. Most roses, salvias, and dianthus (for example) do fairly well though, so it is sunny enough for a lot of plants. Plenty of shady spots, though, where I like to tuck the aforementioned brunnera and heuchera. Soil type? Its fairly good soil, improving over the years. Well drained enough for agastache and echinacea to overwinter beautifully. There is irrigation and fertilization when necessary. the gardens get mulched unless it’s a picky plant.

Ferns, Ornamental Rhubarb, Iris, not the bearded - the foliage sucks post bloom, dwarf conifers, hibiscus, Elephant Ear and caladium as annuals, grasses, alliums, astilbe.

Not large, but distinctive, spikey texture--Pardandandas--and nice flowers.
