Didn’t you keep track of where you planted it? If it’s in the space where you planted it, then it should be Empress Wu. Still have questions——post a picture when it’s unfurled.

The plant I put in the ground had 3 pip and a label that said Empress Wu. It never got all that big last year . It has easily doubled the number of pips this year. was expecting it to take a number of years to get that size beginning to wonder what I have . When leaf opens I will post pic

Did it have a lot of healthy roots packed into the pot? Did you plant it well in spring? Where did you buy it from? I wouldn't doubt it based on what you've told us.
