Is the beam load bearing?

Is the beam in the shower load bearing? This looks like a pop-out. I'm curious what, if any concerns, there are around moisture exposure to the beam.

    Hi! I don't know. It was there, and we decided to keep it since we liked the way it looked. There are other beams like this throughout the house. My guess is that it is not weight bearing. No problems with moisture, and they have had the beam there in a previous shower too so it has lasted the test of time.
