I actually tried on a ton of rugs at rugsusa and the ones that look best in your entryway are ones that have some darker/black colors in them. They go well with the door and railings.

I think a runner, in a colorful pattern would look great in your hall❣️ A colorful paisley or geometric or flower pattern would look great.

I agreed with Melissa about black. I like colors to relate to each other and am not a total convert of the random pop of color.

I would look for a rug that incorporates black, the stone color of the floor and then the extra color, maybe pull a color from the room you are entering into.

A runner would look great and suggest a more subtle black and cream combination (to work with wall color and flooring). It will add dimension and interest, without being overpowering. Be sure it’s a heavier rug and add a high quality non-slip underpad.

I went with this one! I’ll update once it’s in. Not bold as I was originally thinking but I chickened out.

while your choice is nice I think you are going to be disappointed. I tried on a ton of lighter rugs and they just didn't work in your space. let us know how it turns out

Your neutral choice is fine, but the fringe won't work up against the door. You'll need to have it centered in the hallway and leave the area right next to the door bare.

I didn’t even think of that. I think it’s long enough that I can center it and have just a few inches on either end.
