Citrus trees indoors with Cats?

Hello all in the citrus forums! I am wondering if it would be a good idea to grow a lemon tree indoors. I do have a cat and she absolutely hates citrus and am unsure if it will cause her discomfort to have a tree growing indoors. She dislikes it very much to the point where she would steer clear away from it, but I just don't know how strong the scent will be to her and don't want her to feel uncomfortable in a room with a citrus tree. What have your experiences been?

All cats I have had ignored my citrus trees, except to use the pots as litter boxes.

I would not worry about having a citrus in the house. Your cat will get used to it.

You should be more concerned about the plant than the cat! The cat has legs and can walk away. What can the citrus tree do if it doesn't like the cat?

To be serious, there won't be any problem!

What actual smell does the cat dislike? Probably the smell released when a citrus fruit is cut nearby. Most of the citrus smell is carried by the oil in the peel but the living plant is quite different and I doubt the cat will notice it at all.
