II sounds as if you already have conflict with top and cabinet tones. A back splash can not be installed until tops are installed. A painted wall until that happens will not be life threatening. I would suggest you WAIT to make a firm selection. Do that on site in an otherwise finished kitchen space. There is NO HURRY. Don't let anyone tell you there is a hurry. Tile is last and it also LASTS. So....you wait.

Jan, Quartz just got installed. The 2 whites (cabinets and the Quartz tops) flow nicely together, as my floors are warm.

Contractor says tile needs to go before appliances & plumbing fixtures. We’re tiling all the way up behind the vent hood. So he wants to install that and the dishwasher after tile.

Nice kitchen! If you like the chevron, why not just use that everywhere?

As far as using gray tile, do you like how the backsplash area looks now?

Update. Suggested from the other discussion I went to Floor & Decor and found a pretty exact match to the Cloe white! I’m feeling so relieved.

TileBar Portmore tiles are also very similar to the Cloe tiles from Bedrosians.

@barncatz I def could have used chevron all over and it would have looked stunning. I don’t know why I just got stuck in my head to let it be more of a featured look above my stove while doing the rest in subway.

@Glee 4 do you have any more pictures of your countertops? I'm considering that exact color for my kitchen which is very similar in the mix of white with dark. Would love to see more!

Just yesterday we got appliances installed & running water. Sat/Sun were tile, so everything is very fresh. Colors & materials: My plan was to gently mix cooler and warmer tones of white over warm white oak floors.

I'll admit I was nervous to see how it look put together, but today I'm a happy camper! I've got a video that captures the details MUCH better. I'm gonna post a video tour of this on my fledgling Instagram: @remodel_diaries by Friday. That's when we're getting hardware installed on the cabs. Then we can start stocking these cabinets!

Looks really good! I purchased the F&D Adessi, but will be returning. I thought it only contained that 2nd lightest tone color of Pearl but when got home they are all the same multi tones as yours. I'm needing only a cream color tile for warmer floor & cabs. Quartz is organic white. Glad you found your solution! Beautiful kitchen!

Based upon your description of the paint color, Cloe white/Adessi zellige must be a perfect match IRL. It looks great in the photos - but it’s so hard to photograph the tile and get a true representation. Now I know why I liked your cabinets so much - wish you had a SW/BM color for me!! But then again, that would make selecting the right white paint WAY TOO EASY! 😂

I’m getting the kitchen photographed by a real photog tomorrow even though I’m STILL missing side panels on my appliance cabinet because they ordered the wrong ones. Now another 4 week wait. 😟. The island is a dark stain called Colt. It’s dark brown with a gray undertone.

I know that I made one awhile ago - just never use it. That would be so helpful - I really do think that your paint looks great with the tile. So does your wall color and your island stain. Very, very pretty. Makes me excited to get this renovation started!

Also - the wood stained island adds warmth to your kitchen - I need to decide whether I’m staining just my island OR island + lower perimeter cabinets. I still love my inspiration kitchen from a couple years ago

@beth Thank you! The subway tile is the Cloe lookalike by Adessi (Floor & Decor). And the chevron is Calacutta Gold by Elysium. During install, I ran out and picked up marble liners for the border as a last minute switch because the 1/2” pencil liners I got with the subway looked too skinny and didn’t look right.

Quartz is Laneve Nuovo by Vadara. It’s on the whitish side with some medium-light grey veining. I had to make a switch there too because the slab at the cut had to turn 90-degrees on my 2-level island (dining is the lower). My original chosen quartz had a larger pattern. So i had to choose a pattern that was not one-directional. Maybe that’s more than ya’ll wanted to know, but it was an unexpected pivot for me. 😜

Will the cloe look alike adessi tiles go with kitchen cabinets painted Pewter Revere by Benjamin Moore?

Yes absolutely. My cab color is off-white, warm gray and I like the slightly warmer tone. I feel that could have gone darker too.

Your kitchen is beautiful. I just used these F&D tiles in my master bath and my kitchen cabs are Diamond and Dover color too. We have the same taste. I hope you are loving your how gorgeous it is.

Sorry everyone for the delayed responses! Glad others chimed in. Wall paint in kitchen is Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, a perfect blend of gray & neutral beige. Splash tile is Adessi Pearl Zelige. Pendant is Hinkley Somerset.

@nadine I like the quality of the Vadara. How we does all white quartz so this? I noticed when red sauce ends up on the counter for a bit, it stains and takes extra effort to wipe the stain away.

However does all white quartz…

Use a tiny bit of diluted soft scrub in circle motions, the stain will come right out - then wash over with soap & water.

@dani_m08 , I know this thread is a little ways past, but we have the same inspiration photo.. My kitchen is starting late April, white on top, wood on bottom and I'm lookng at cloe or white pickets for my backsplash. Did you do your kitchen? What did you do with your backsplash?

@glee4 Beautiful kitchen. I know this post is from a while back. Just curious what color grout you ended up using. My walls are a griege and my cabinets are a warm white. I'm worried the bright white will look too cold. I really like the balance of yours.
