The fragrance in the air is wonderful now that the lilacs and viburnum have started flowering. This pink lilac is a wonderful grower with a beautiful scent. It is 'Maiden's Blush'.

Lilac 'Blue Skies' is another wonderful grower but the fragrance isn't as nice.

I don't remember the name of this dark lilac. It is a puny grower for us.

I like the combination of the white flowers of the viburnum with the bright red of the flowering quince. The quince is a different one from the one I posted the other day. The flowers are larger and double and the plant grows more upright with no thorns. The second picture is a closeup of the quince.

There was an ancient crabapple tree on the property when we moved in. The buds are pink but the flowers are white. It has a beautiful spreading shape and is lovely when in bloom. Here are some of its flowers.

We have had a couple days of rain and the daylilies are looking good now. We hope there isn't another frost in our future. We even have apricots on two of our trees--first year for that. Overall, it has been a wonderful spring.
