Highlights of my spring bloomers

The violets know it's spring - even if we have had snow showers all day here in Northern Michigan. Here are some of the best right now (and Irina, please don't judge the foliage!)

AE-Strelets Elite - I just love the way the bright yellow pollen sacs pop against the dark petals:

One of my favorites, just for the way it blooms its heart out for me, Gum Drop:

Another blooming fool with blooms that last forever and ever, Rob's Sarsaparilla:

Another EK, EK Snegiri (Bullfinch):

LE Koltsa Saturna - this one fascinates me. Only one bloom open so far with more to come, but what a stunner:

And lastly a little cutie, Rob's Combustible Pigeon:

I also have the Koltsa Saturna (Rings of Saturn), and it's always in bloom. And Strelets Elite is just gorgeous - the English translation, according to Lyons and elsewhere is Sagittarius Elite. Mine has very bright yellow crown variegation in cooler weather.

Judy, thank you for correcting the name I listed for what should have been AE Strelets Elite. I don't know where my brain was! Yes, mine has some yellow crown variegation as well (which is hiding in the photo I took, under the blooms) but it is not as striking as your plants variegation. Thanks for your photo - I like the color contrast with the yellow leaves.
