cleaning old grout off aluminum windows?

The old tile used to sit higher in the window line - any advice on how to remove this without destroying the anodized window finish?

Is it possible that is caulk rather than grout? If it is caulk, a heat gun would soften it.

Sadly it’s definitely tile grout

More than likely no good way to remove it without destroying the anodized finish.

I ran across an article stating that a paste of sugar and water applied to concrete on anodized aluminum (leave on 5 minutes) would soften the concrete and be able to use a soft or wooden scraper to remove. Sounds too good to be true, but who knows. I have not tried this, but just a though, it might work for grout.

I work with anodized aluminum as a commercial façade company, it is too good to be true.
