Help with the Backsplash!

We just installed new cupboards and countertops AND floors! I am going to repaint, up for any suggestions! What backsplash and paint do you suggest?!

It would help to replace the white stove with black to match the dishwasher (and hopefully fridge). The flooring and cabinets are very busy and almost at odds, so you want to avoid adding more color, texture, or pattern. I’d consider a solid colored tile that picks up a light tan in your cabinets, and paint the wall the same color.

Thank you 😊 I like the suggestions, does anyone think this would look ok, or not? it's brushed nickel.

Timi, what solid colors do you think would look good? can you put a picture for an example? I definitely want it to look good and realize I don't have the best design sense!

No more texture. Either plain white or plain black tile. Any size.
Also, remove the 4” lip from the counter before adding any tile.
    Is that fan staying?

In looking at the space again, I think an off white or white tile will work best. You can purchase subway tile at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Is the ceiling white. I would paint it (and the walls) white, if not. To brighten and bring interest to the space you might consider aqua or turquoise accent pieces in dishes, towels and rug.

White or off white subway tile and wall paint. Keep it simple❣️

I like your cabinets but the flooring really makes the whole area seem too busy And the color is not especially flattering with your pretty cabs. I would use a large pretty rug that would cover a lot of the flooring in the kitchen area. The flooring wouldn’t be my first choice in any situation but I think on it’s own it would be fine so cover as much as you can in the kitchen to diminish the busyness there.

I would also suggest a plain white tile.

It would be helpful to also see a photo of the space in daylight and a photo of the space looking out from the back of the kitchen. Since there is not a lot of wall, I would tile all of it, even over the window by the stove. I like the idea of a large rug, but keeping it clean could be a hassle. It’s hard to fully imagine the kitchen because it’s still being finished, such as the window frames. It is wonderful that you have all the windows, though. Are you planning on window treatments (curtains, shades, blinds)?

Very busy space, you I would personally go with an off white paint color to brighten the space. The lighting needs to be addressed also. You already have a backsplash integrated into your countertop, so I wouldn't tile above it. If you must tile, I would keep it a simple off white subway with matching grout.

You already have a backsplash. The four inch part of the counter. Just paint a lighter color and you are done.

A creamy white or a sage green.

I feel like I have to add additional backsplash just because of splatter....I already have some staining from the grease. my husband built them from Rustic Hickory and the faces to the drawers and cabinets are ordered from the Amish. I'm really thinking I'll do an off white tile with matching paint to keep it simple and bright. then when we can afford it we will trim the windows, get the black stove and refrigerator. Thank you for all the suggestions! it has literally changed my mind for the better, oh and I'm adding another rug to help calm down the busyness! Seriously, thank you everyone!

    which one should I do?!

The one on the left. Keep it simple because there’s so much pattern in the cabinets and flooring.

    agree ....the one on left

I prefer the far left. Usually with a backsplash you either use the four inch that you currently have or run a backsplash from the countertop up to the cab bottoms. It may look a bit awkward to use both.

By the way, your husband did a great job on the cabinets!

    On the left.

Left, but make sure the tile isn't stark white. You kitchen is very warm, so you don't want to add a cold white & throw it off. A cream or off white would be really nice with matching grout.

    I like the middle one.
