I'm not sure what that is. Erigeron would probably have serated leaves, Liatris? Carex? You could just leave it a little longer until it blooms. It's not growing in the middle of anything worth worrying about, just some common forget me nots.

It resembles Campanula persicifolia a little but time will tell.

Thank you both. I will wait for flowers. I suspected peach leaf Campanula, but it seems more vigorous than others I have.

Ken, the last couple times I scattered forget me not seeds, I didn't have good results, so I believe I may be harboring some resentful feelings towards them, and I get satisfaction seeing them with potential thugs in their midst. On my scale of garden worthiness they fall somewhere in between Veronica arvensis and the oh so common Viola sororia. I do love a lot of the native Borage family plants including my spring ephemeral Aunt Lucys and of course the beautiful Virginia and Giant waterleafs. How about some pics of your forget me nots Ken? I've never seen any pics of what's actually growing in your 5 acres? I'Il go first. 😆

The general similarity to the bluebell was immediately apparent to me also but this plant seems to have different leaves. Broader, maybe thinner, and with wing like margins coming all the way to the central stalk. And with a longer, more gradually tapering and pointed outline.

I've never grown C. persicifolia, but when I look at photos it seems it varies in it's leaf margins, some clearly showing sedation others smooth? Can anyone verify that?

Yes, Jay I have grown them for decades and there is variability to the foliage. There is usually a basal rosette but quite often not.

i had pix of my hosta and conifer collections.. but not many flower pix .... i didnt have time for that nonsense... i mean taking the pix.. i had flowers everywhere ..

i did a very quick hard drive search ...... no pic labeled forget ... nor myositis.. or whatever it might be today ...
